The requirements for obtaining a Night qualification are that the applicant must have: 'completed satisfactorily a total of 50 hours as pilot of aeroplanes.', and 'Before starting a recognised course of night flying an applicant must have at least 20 hours as pilot-in-command of which 10 hours must have been gained since making application for a PPL(A).' Night Qualification Privileges:The holder of a night rating is able to fly with passengers within the UK during the hours of darkness. - See Schedule 8 of the Air Navigation Order for complete privileges.
